A Cheyenne man was arrested by the Laramie County Sheriff's Department in connection with a drive by shooting Sunday night.
Larry A. Turner, 27, is charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Homicide after one of the three people inside the apartment peaked out a window and gathered information about the suspects car, along with the license plate number, while the shots were fired. "At a later time, local law enforcement were able to locate the suspect, as well as the vehicle in the City of Cheyenne," said Gerry Luce, Laramie County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
The incident happened at 1006 East Jefferson Road, Apartment #102. Sunday night, around 10:45 p.m., deputies responded to a call of shots fired. When they got to the apartment they found five suspected gunshot holes in the east side of the building and three through a bedroom window. An initial investigation uncovered a number of 99mm shell casings near the location.
Authorities traced the license plate number to 1880 Pershing Pointe where Turner, also known as "Buckshot", was taken into custody. Luce says more evidence was also found inside Turner's blue Ford Focus and Turner placed himself near the scene of the crime while talking to authorities.
Luce says authorities are still looking into whether there were others in the vehicle at the time.
"Right now part of the ongoing investigation is determining how many individuals were in fact in the car. We've had several reports of different numbers and that's still a part of the on going investigation, making that determination."
Luce says they do not have a motive at this time. Turner's also being held on two counts of Aggravated Assault and a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
