This year Cyber Monday and Black Friday were big business for the Wyoming owned outfitter.
130 customer service representatives work in the Sierra Trading Post call center. Most days, they get about 3,200 customer contacts (calls, emails and chats). Lately, that number's more than doubled.
Sierra Trading Post says it broke a number of records on Black Friday. "It was the best revenue day we've ever had... probably 40 percent higher than what we expected" says Ken Walter, Executive Vice President of Merchandise and Marketing.
Those records kept rebooting over the weekend and into Cyber Monday. "People used to buy 3 things, now every order has 5 1/2 things" says Walter.
Sierra Trading Post does close to 90% of its business online. It employs about 600 people.
