UW will soon become a hub for promoting literacy statewide.
First Lady Carol Mead and the Dean of Education at the University made a big announcement Monday.
Next year, they'll open the University of Wyoming Literacy Research Center and Clinic.
It comes with a $3.8 million dollar price tag, mostly made up of private donations.
They plan to begin in January and finish up in the fall of next year.
Carol Mead's platform for the last two years has been helping kids read and providing families and teachers with resources to do so.
"We will have the capability to capture digitally all of the different tutoring and all of the different professional development services that will be provided and to be able to disseminate that again and again and again across the state I absolutely believe that that will make a tangible difference in literacy here in Wyoming," Mead said.
