Teddy Bears Needed for Hurricane Sandy Victims

Posted: Updated:

A local student at College America is stepping up to help kids victimized by Hurricane Sandy.

Cliff Brown is rallying fellow students and faculty members at College America to try and collect teddy bears to send back to Union Beach, New Jersey.

Brown has family in Union Beach that lost their homes during the hurricane and he wanted to give back to the kids there.

He's hoping to donate at least 800 teddy bears, one for every child in grades K-6.

Brown needs money donations to help with shipping costs and hundreds more bears by next Thursday to reach his goal.

"Go out and buy a bear. If you have older bears, as long as they're clean and bring them in. We want as many bears as we can get and because it's for kids and everything's for kids," Brown said.

Donations can be dropped off at the College America office at 6101 Yellowstone Road, Suite 101. Call 307-637-2044 for more information.
