/// Update Dec. 10th ///
The Laramie County Sheriff's Department has made an arrest in Thursday's fatal shooting.
Brian M. Sears, 28, is behind bars for Second Degree Homicide and Attempted Homicide. He is the man identified as having stab wounds. Sears was taken to the hospital Thursday night, but was arrested when he was released on Sunday, December 9th.
Sears is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court Monday morning.
Authorities believe Thursday night's shooting/stabbing may be a marijuana deal gone wrong. According the Laramie County Sheriff's Department, details behind the motivation and sequence of events are still under investigation.
"We're still early enough in the investigation we are as still working on developing what caused the situation at 212 Tyler #30," said Gerry Luce, PIO for Laramie County Sheriff's Department.
Thursday night's shooting left one person dead and another in the hospital with stab wounds.
The shooting was reported at around 10:30 p.m. December 6th. Authorities were notified by the family of a person involved in a fight that led to one man being stabbed and another shot. They were both transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, but 22-year-old Connor E. Tarr who was shot was later pronounced dead.
The person stabbed, 28-year-old Brian Sears, remains at CRMC. Sears was the owner of the home where the shooting/stabbing happened. It appears the incident occurred after 22-year-old Cameron Scott, a third person involved in the incident, and Tarr arrived at the home.
During the fight, Scott got in a vehicle and drove back to his home. In the process, his vehicle was hit several times with gun fire. He was not injured in the process.
Both weapons, a handgun and a knife, were found by authorities at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
