On Tuesday Linda Curl made her initial court appearance to face one citation of animal cruelty.
On November 9th Curl's 29 severely neglected shih tzus were dropped off at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. All of them were covered in feces and urine, some with mats half their size.
One of the dogs had to be put to sleep. The other 28 are still at the shelter getting the care and attention they need.
In court, Curl requested a public defender. Judge Catherine Rogers granted the request and set Curl's arraignment for Monday, December 17th at 9AM. That's when Curl will plead either guilty or not guilty.
The dogs will stay at the shelter until the court case is settled or until Curl relinquishes ownership.
