Local Woman Organizes Sandy Hook Donations

Posted: Updated:

The school shooting in Newtown last Friday hit close to home for one local woman. Linda Davenport is a Branch Manager at the Pinnacle Bank in south Cheyenne, but she grew up about 30 miles from Newtown and is very familiar with how tight-knit that community is.  But Linda isn't letting distance stop her from helping the victims' families.

She decided to set up a fund to assist those families by taking in donations at both Pinnacle Bank locations here in Cheyenne.  The bank was very supportive of her idea and has been promoting it on their facebook page.

Donors will receive a green and white ribbon to wear in honor of teacher Victoria Soto, who gave her life protecting her students.

Monetary donations will be collected through December 31st.  Checks should be made payable to: Sandy Hook School Support Fund.  All donations will be sent to Newtown National Savings Bank shortly after the New Year begins.
