Two Men Charged in Home Invasion Post Bond

The two men arrested last week in connection with the beating of a 41-year-old Cheyenne man were in circuit court again Thursday.

Both men are being charged with aggravated assault and battery with serious injury.

35-year-old Kevin Smith and 55-year-old Richard Cabozzi are the two men being charged for entering the mobile home of 41-year-old Roger Bartram, then beating him on December 6.

Thursday afternoon both men decided to waive their preliminary hearings, sending their cases to district court where they will enter their pleas.

In addition to charges of aggravated assault and battery, Smith is also being charged with possession of marijuana. He pled not guilty to that charge.

Judge Roberta Coates agreed to allow Cabozzi to post bond for $1,000 and Smith for $2,000. Neither is permitted to leave Laramie County and will be subject to pay an additional $9,000 each for violating any conditions of their bond.

Smith and Cabozzi had been living together, but will no longer be allowed to do so or be permitted to go near the location of their alleged attack.

"You may not go to or within one block of 3201 South Greeley Highway, #26. Do you understand, sir?," said Judge Coates.

Bartram was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
