Cheyenne's charter school is proving to be beneficial to students when it comes to test scores.
Students at the PODER Academy charter school are showing rapid gains in reading and math scores.
Results from the Measures of Academic Progress or MAP tests are showing, from the beginning of the school year, students are already scoring an average of about 10 points higher in reading, math and language skills.
Results are being attributed to the PODER Academy's college-prep focus. This is the first year the charter school has been open in Cheyenne.
