For anyone who has ever seen a MMA fight it can be hard to picture those athletes as "nice guys" as they do their best to try and best their opponent hoping for a knock out. One Cheyenne man is a prime example of the respect and honor many MMA fighters carry with them when they enter the ring or cage.
T.J. Nunnaley has been training for eight years and fighting for about four and a half. He currently posts a 2-3 professional record fighting in the 185 lb. weight class and sometimes in the 205 lb. weight class. Being the nice guy is the most important thing to him.
A father and husband T.J.'s life now is surrounded by family and fighting after leaving his job dealing with social work. One of his biggest aspirations in life has always been simply helping people. He hopes his character and actions through fighting can have a positive affect.
Nunnaley trains at Black Dragon Gym and at Smart Sports in Cheyenne. Surprisingly his work out schedule isn't as rigorous as one might think. He focuses on cardio and his mental game when preparing for fights.
His next fight is scheduled for February 9 at the Grizzly Rose in Denver.
