CBS NewsChannel 5, the Cheyenne CW and Holly Frontier recognize Mrs. Sindy Joslin this week as the Golden Apple recipient.
Mrs. Joslin teaches third grade at Henderson Elementary and likes to involve her students in every way possible. Through dancing, projects and even re mixing Justin Bieber songs Mrs. Joslin keeps her kids entertained and educated every minute of every day.
After going though a tough experience as a kid herself, this third grade teacher constantly sets her focus on putting an end to bullying. She moved to the United States in kindergarten from South Korea. She barely spoke English as she was thrown into a small town in Texas. Teachers and fellow students at the time didn't make it an easy adjustment. Since then she's taken an interesting angle on anti-bullying tactics. By creating a positive attitude towards bullies and peers she has been instilling the idea of a bully-free environment for her students.
To go along with her ability to teach both subjects and life lessons, her students see her as quite the comedian. On a daily basis Mrs. Joslin will bust out different accents. She has learned how to relate to these young students and has gained their respect and attention.
For these reasons and many more, Mrs. Joslin has received this week's Golden Apple award. Play the video to here from her and several of her students.
