In general, adult paperbacks sell for $1.00 and hardback editions for $2.00.   Children's books are $.50 for paperback and $1.00 for hardcover.  Some special books, for example cookbooks, will be individually priced.  Unusual, old and valuable donations will be sold through a continuous silent auction.  A sampling of categories includes children's books, music, foreign language, science fiction, religion, philosophy, poetry, health and self-help, cooking, how-to, western, mystery, fiction, travel, nonfiction, romance, and more, in both hardback and paper editions.  There are also some games, puzzles, books-on-tape and CD, videos, and textbooks.

Sunday will be the "All Day Box and Bag Sale."  Bags will sell for $6 at the door, and boxes for $10.   Shoppers can fill them to the top, but must use the specially marked DKG containers.   Customers who do not want that many books can still purchase items at the original prices.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international society of women in education.  Through the support of the Cheyenne community in donating and purchasing our books for the past 29 years, Upsilon Chapter of DKG has awarded numerous individual scholarships.  In 2007, the group completed a pledge of $50,000 to the University of Wyoming that the Legislature matched for a $100,000 scholarship endowment.  In 2009, Upsilon Chapter fulfilled a $50,000 pledge to Laramie County Community College that established a $100,000 endowment there.  Some of the proceeds help current educators seeking further degrees and professional development.   Most of the proceeds from the 2010 - 2012 sales were donated to support educational programs at  the Children's Village in the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens.
