
The Cheyenne VA Medical Center has developed an innovative method to process new enrollments into VA's healthcare system.
Called the "Mobile Business Office," VA staff travels to outreach events, information fairs and town hall meetings with a specially configured computer, secure wireless network connection and a web camera. The design of the new system provides capabilities to completely enroll Veterans for healthcare, including the determination of eligibility, scheduling an initial appointment and registration with the MyHealtheVet web based portal.
The program was launched in May 2012 and since then they've enrolled 85 veterans across the state, issued over 100 veterans identification cards, and scheduled more than 30 medical visits to the VA.
