Free Tax Preparation Service Available from Wyoming Free Tax Service

Free tax preparation, for those who qualify, and information about Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is available at Laramie County Community College, 1400 E. College Dr., Building 16, Training Room #103 through April 15, 2013 at the following dates and times.

• Mon. and Wed., 5-7:30 p.m., Jan. 30 – April 15, 2013

• Sat. 9-11:30 a.m., Feb. 2 – April 13, 2013

Local IRS certified volunteers will answer questions about EITC eligibility and free tax preparation through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. Basic income tax preparation services and electronic filing will be available to qualified Laramie County residents with low- to moderate-incomes, $50,000 total family income or less.

Taxpayers are asked to bring identification, social security card, income documentation(W-2), deductible expenses, and 2011 tax return, if available. People with education credits are asked to wait until the middle of February to request preparation assistance. Returns with education credits cannot be transmitted until that time due to IRS regulations.
