Hospital Hosts "Ladies in Red"
(PRESS RELEASE)
Cheyenne, WY—Women's heart health is the focus of the fourth annual "Ladies in Red" event hosted by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on Feb. 9, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Cheyenne-Kiwanis Community House. Other sponsors include the Cheyenne Regional Foundation and the Wyoming Heart & Vascular Institute (WHVI).
The featured speaker is Donna Hartley, who will share what she's learned from surviving a plane crash, melanoma and heart attack. Her goal is to encourage and empower women to make life changes that will improve their outlook and health.
Maria Kidner, an advanced practice nurse with Cheyenne Cardiology Associates and the WHVI, will also discuss risk factors for heart disease in women.
"Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States," said Kidner. "About three-fourths of heart disease is preventable. Ladies in Red is a great way for us to reach out to the women of our community with that message."
Guests are encouraged to wear red clothing or accessories to show their support for women's heart health.
Ladies in Red will feature a heart-healthy brunch. Door prizes will include jewelry, gym memberships and gift certificates for facials and massages.
The cost to attend is $25, and an RSVP is required. For more information or to RSVP, call 307-633-6050 or visit cheyenneregional.org.
