State Museum Receives Top Honor

Wyoming's State Museum has received accreditation and not did they receive accreditation, but received it for 10 years. It's the highest honor given by the American Alliance of Museums.

This signifies excellence to the museum community, to governments, funders, outside agencies and the museum-going public.

"In the country, there is over 17,000 museums and of that 17,000, less than 5% are accredited. So what that means is the Wyoming State Museum is on the same playing field as the Smithsonian. That's a huge deal. There are six accredited museums in the state of Wyoming and so we're one of them," said Helen Louise, Wyoming State Museum Manager.
