Pevco’s new customers in the Middle East result of recently forged relationship with local distributor
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) February 27, 2013
Pevco, a U.S. manufacturer focused exclusively on pneumatic tube systems (PTS) for hospitals, today announced that two medical centers in Kuwait have purchased and will install a Pevco PTS. These two facilities represent Pevco’s first customers in the Middle East.
Both medical centers – Mubarak Dialysis Center and Farwaniya Hospital – bought the Pevco PTS through the company’s new Kuwait-based distributor, Advanced Technology Company (ATC).
“Pevco is very pleased to be represented by ATC, the region’s leading distributor of innovative and reliable healthcare products,” said Pevco President Fred Valerino, Jr. “As hospitals in Kuwait and elsewhere in the region look to expand their technology infrastructure, we’re confident our strategic partnership with ATC will play an important role in that expansion.”
Mubarak will install a 7-station, 6-inch PTS for use between blood-draw areas and the central laboratory. The PTS components have shipped from Pevco’s factory in Baltimore and installation is expected to be completed this spring.
Farwaniya will install a 9-station, 6-inch PTS, also for use primarily between blood-draw locations and the central lab. The PTS components will ship next month, with installation expected to be completed in late summer.
“When we add a product to our portfolio of healthcare offerings, it is done only after much consideration of what best meets the evolving needs of our healthcare clients and their patients,” said Aymen Saleem, Manager of Environmental and Scientific Laboratory at ATS. “We seek out products that have a reputation for design innovation, build quality and operational reliability. Just as important, we look for companies that have a reputation for providing outstanding customer support. With Pevco, we found all of the above.”
In conjunction with their Pevco PTS, both medical centers have purchased Pevco TEC-6™ carriers to transport their blood draws and other small medical items throughout the system. TEC-6 (Trackable Ergonomic Carrier for 6-inch diameter pneumatic tube systems) offers greater durability than competing carriers. Other features include an ergonomic design, closed-latch indicators and integrated barcodes for carrier tracking.
Pevco designs, manufactures, installs and supports hospital pneumatic tube systems that enable healthcare professionals to quickly, safely and reliably transport patient-critical materials between labs, pharmacies, blood banks, ORs, EDs and nursing stations. Used by more than 600 leading hospitals, Pevco’s flexible, intelligent products consistently reduce operating costs and are compatible with all competing pneumatic tube systems. Pevco was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Baltimore, with support staff positioned throughout North America. To learn more, visit http://www.pevco.com.
