Whenever it snows there's always the hope of a snow day. However, kids within Laramie County School District One haven't seen one in over three years.
So what does it take for school to be canceled or delayed?
David Bartlett, Assistant Superintendent of Support Operations for LCSD1, says there's a protocol for calling a closure or delay. He says the decision has to be made by 5:30 AM. Prior to then, beginning at about 3:30 AM, he and his team are out driving the roads and collaborating with the National Weather Service.
This week, they decided the roads were ok.
Therefore, the wait for a snow day continues.
