On Sunday about 25 students from Laramie County Community College helped take down over 100,000 lights at the Hemi Lighted Forest of Hope in Cheyenne.
KGWN first brought you the story on the Forest of Hope a few years ago. Every December Gary and Nancy Kelly string Christmas lights on over 600 trees at their home. Each tree represents a child who's undergone a hemispherectomy, like their granddaughter.
However, what goes up, must come down.
On Sunday the Kelly's began taking down the lights with the help of students from LCCC.
The students are part of the school's Human Services Program. Every semester, they take on several projects to help people in the community.
Kelly says what took them a few hours would have taken him several days.
