BALTIMORE, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, March 12, 2013, a group of about 50 Sellinger MBA's, MSF's and their guests attended The Loyola Sellinger After 5 Series hosted by R2integrated. The Sellinger After 5 Series is a complimentary continuing education and networking program sponsored by the Sellinger Graduate Alumni Association, and it provides alumni(ae) with an opportunity to visit companies which are industry leaders in their fields and interact and learn directly from their founders, executives and chief operating officers. This time, the event presented a look into r2i, a next-generation digital/social marketing and technology firm headquartered in Baltimore. Jorge E. Castillo, MBA '06, member of the Sellinger Graduate Alumni Association's Board of Directors and Director of Analytics and ROI at r2i; and Engel Baldwin, BBA '94 and Senior Digital Marketing Account Manager at r2i hosted the event.
After a networking reception, the attendees entered r2i's main conference room to meet CEO Matt Goddard and begin the Q&A session. "You can ask me anything you want," said Goddard as the program began. It did not take long for the inquisitive group to begin asking questions: "What have been the hardest things you have had to deal while leading this company," asked an attendee. Goddard went on to explain how difficult it is to make crucial business decisions and have to wait to see what the outcome is. "In 2007 we decided to acquire a tech firm to complement our robust and well-developed design and marketing team. It turned out to be the right decision," he added.
The audience was a captive one and the questions kept coming: "How do you organize a marketing and technology firm in terms of generalists and specialists," asked a recent MBA graduate. "How do you continue to differentiate yourself in this fast-paced technology-savvy world," asked a director at PHH. "What are your goals for 2013," was another one. Goddard incorporated his passion for digital marketing and his own experiences and provided insights into one of Baltimore's most recognized and respected Marketing and technology firms.
"I am very pleased with the turn-out and how deep and meaningful the Q&A session became," said Castillo. "The feedback that we have received has all been positive and I think we could have easily gone another 40 minutes. There were more questions in the audience, but time ran out," he concluded.
