For the first time in her career, Wyoming tennis player Sasa Nemcova earned MW Player of the Week honors.
A senior from Bratislava, Slovakia, Nemcova was 2-0 last week as she
helped the Cowgirls improve to 2-0 in conference play (8-7 overall) with
a 7-0 win over Colorado State on March 30. She defeated the Rams'
Adriana Wojakowska at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-0, then teamed with
Alexandra Kovacs at No. 2 doubles, where they were victorious over the
Colorado State duo of Wojakowska and Natalie Heffron, 8-2.
Nemcova has an overall record of 11-11 on the season in singles and 13-10 in doubles. Her 71 singles victories are the most in school history.
The Cowgirls are currently 8-7 overall and 2-0 in Mountain West action. They will be on the road this week to face the 60th ranked Fresno State Bulldogs, on Thursday, April 4, and the Nevada Wolf Pack, on Friday, April 5. Both matches are set to be played in Fresno, Calif.
