Governor Mead signed several proclamations today. The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and this week is National Crime Victims' Rights week.
Many were on hand for the signings, including those who attended the Child Abuse news conference and proclamation signing held earlier in the morning.
Sexual assault affects the lives of hundreds of women, men, children, adults and families in Wyoming every year. Any unwanted sexual contact whether it's physical or verbal is considered sexual assault.
The goal of National Crime Victims' Rights week is to raise awareness about crime victims and to let them know there is help available.
