Over the past several years, Wyoming Fuel Tax Administration has partnered with Michaels™ of Cheyenne to raise funds for a very worthy program known as the Friday Food Bag Foundation by building, matting, framing and auctioning-off puzzles. Additionally, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has agreed to match a percentage of our fundraising efforts each year, and as a result we have raised over $6,500.00 for the foundation.
Friday Food Bag Foundation (FFBF) is a non-profit program that provides sack lunches to children in Laramie County that may not eat healthy, or at all, over the weekend if not for the food provided by FFBF. In the 2010-2011 school year, FFBF provided nearly 12,000 sack lunches to children in Laramie County School Districts #1 & #2 with an associated cost of $5.00 per bag. A Friday Food Bag Foundation Fact Sheet is included in this solicitation packet, and we hope you will review it while considering our request for sponsorship.
Wyoming Fuel Tax Administration is a department within the Wyoming Department of Transportation charged with administering fuel tax for the State of Wyoming. We are a team of 14 people committed not only to efficiently and effectively performing our jobs, but also to giving back to the community in which we live. Our commitment to community service is so strong that our intention is identified in our Balanced Scorecard strategic plan. While our community service spans the spectrum, we are extremely committed to the Friday Food Bag Foundation due to the importance of their mission.
This year Wyoming Fuel Tax Administration has stepped-up its efforts to raise funds for the needy children of Laramie County by establishing the Fuel For Kids Brown Bag Ball fundraising dinner, silent auction and live auction. We are extremely excited to be partnering with the FFBF Board of Directors to make this event a reality, and we are happy to continue our partnership with Michaels while enhancing our fundraising efforts.
The Fuel For Kids Brown Bag Ball is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th at the Plains Hotel in downtown Cheyenne. The success of this inaugural event will depend on a great deal of community support, and there are many ways that you can offer your support. We have included a How Can I Help information sheet to assist you in considering what support you may be able to offer.
