CHEYENNE, Wyo.- The 20th Air Force at F.E. Warren Air Force Base has welcomed a new commander.

Maj. Gen. Fred Stoss took command of 20th Air Force from Maj. Gen. Anthony Cotton Friday, January 26.

Gen. Stoss most recently served as the Director of Operations and Communications, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. As the 20AF commander, he will lead the nation’s intercontinental ballistic missile force.

Gen. Stoss says he hopes to continue a legacy of excellence that his predecessor, Gen. Cotton, had established. He said, "We're going to keep that momentum going forward and looking for innovative ways to inspire our airmen."

Not only has the general been a part of the 20th Air Force seven times now, but Gen. Stoss said it's also his third time at F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

The new commander says he is excited to be back, is rekindling with friends and old acquaintances, and hopes to keep the relationship between F.E. Warren Air Force Base and the Cheyenne community strong.
