Downton Cash-Wa makes shopping convenient

CHEYENNE, Wyo. KGWN Cash-Wa Distributing has been in business for over 80 years, selling food to local Cheyenne restaurants for years. Downtown residents can now bike and some may be able walk to purchase a wide range of groceries and household necessities as the new Cash-Wa has started to expand the inventory.

Cash-Wa has gotten positive feedback from the community, with the location being a highlight.

“Everybody is extremely excited, they’re really, really excited,” said Cash-Wa Office Manager Laurie Hutchinson. “We keep talking about the Safeway that went out of business, you know, don’t have to go all the way to Walmart, I’ve got a lot of people that are walking, riding bikes, coming from the Burke building. They’re riding in cars together and they’re shopping together.”

Not only is Cash-Wa convenient for anyone living or driving downtown, but the store employs 15 Cheyenne residents.

“When you come down here it’s just so much easier to do, it’s so much more convenient, and the prices are even better,” said shopper Travis Forester. “There’s even better staff.”

The store will be at full item capacity within the first few weeks of March and is currently open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located in the Asher building. The address is 1506 Thomes Ave. #A in downtown Cheyenne.
