Chase leads to arrest and discovery of suspected drugs

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) - A suspect is under arrest after leading Cheyenne police on a brief chase.

It happened the evening of December 6th, beginning with a traffic stop at 5th and Evans. CPD Says Michael Yates took off, and lead police on a pursuit down 9th street before turning south and going off road, before trying to cross the railroad tracks north of Campstool Road and Logan Avenue.

After his car got stuck on the tracks, Yates ran on foot, heading west. After being flushed out by police k-9 units, he was eventually arrested at Dunn Avenue. Meanwhile, back at the car, CPD K-9, Capo, lead police to what they called a very large quantity of what is suspected to be meth.

He's now facing thirteen separate charges.
