CHEYENNE, Wyo (RELEASE) - On Friday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m., the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players (CLTP) will ring in the holiday season with A Dickens’ Christmas Carol: A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts, a comedic romp through the adventures of a traveling theatre company’s production of Charles Dickens’ classic story.
A Dickens’ Christmas Carol: A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts is directed by Heidi Teasley, and runs for three weekends, December 1-3, 8-10, and 15-17. This holiday production is being staged at the historic Atlas Theatre in downtown Cheyenne, 211 W. Lincolnway.
This novel adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novella, A Christmas Carol, tells the story of a traveling theatre company’s on and off-stage struggles when a dramatic performance of Dicken’s story begins to unravel after the star actress refuses, at first, to perform; the show must go on while the understudy is not-quite-ready to go on.
In this play-within-a-play, roles are switched, and everything that could possibly go wrong…does. The result is a hilarious re-telling of The Christmas Carol.
This production of A Dickens’ Christmas Carol: A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts will include a $10 Thursday night performance on December 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for other performances are: $22 for adults, $18 for seniors and military, $16 for students, and $12 for children 12 and under. Tickets for A Dickens’ Christmas Carol: A Traveling Travesty in Two Tumultuous Acts are on sale now and may be purchased on-line or by contacting the CLTP box office at 307-638-6543.
Saturday performances include a “dinner theatre” option, with tickets $46 for adults, $42 for seniors and military, and $40 for students, and children $24. Details about the dinner theatre menu are available online as well.
