FORT COLLINS AND CHEYENNE. (KGWN) - Since the 1940's, cities and town across the United States have included Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet in their holiday celebrations. Cheyenne is no exception.
For years, residents of the capital city have joined those of Fort Collins to watch, and even perform in, the Canyon Concert Nutcracker.
Many Cheyenne families make it a yearly tradition to attend the Canyon Concert Nutcracker.
Mykaila Blumhardt, a dancer with Canyon Concert Ballet, says, "We really feel that Cheyenne is basically an extension of Fort Collins. It’s only 45 minutes away.”
Some Cheyenne dancers have joined the Fort Collins Nutcracker cast. One mother drove her daughter to daily classes and rehearsals to give her this experience. She explains, "We commuted to Canyon Concert. It was absolutely phenomenal."
Nicole Ferreri, another dancer with Canyon Concert Ballet, says about the production, “It has something for all ages. Battle scene is really appealing for little boys and then also there’s flowers."
With 36 years of performance history, this production leaves an impact.
Canyon Concert Ballet's Nutcracker runs from December 8th through the 10th at Fort Collins' Lincoln Center. To order tickets, visit https://tickets.lctix.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=1060
