CHEYENNE, Wyo.- For 32 years, it's been a big hit in the small town of Chugwater, Wyoming. The Chugwater Chili Cook-off brings in anyone with a love for chili- all while helping give back to the community.
The Wyoming State Championship Chili Cook-off will take place Saturday, June 17th at Staats Park in Chugwater, Wyoming.
Organizers Bryan Alf Grzegorczyk and Cowboy Bob say it's a cheap and great event for the entire family as well as a fun way to kick off the Father's Day weekend. They have everything from chili and salsa tasting and games for the kids, to live music and beer for the adults. Grzegorczyk says they will even have a remote control airplane air show- something new this year.
The cook-off is a nationally recognized event through the Chili Appreciation Society International. The community's support in events like this one help support nonprofit groups like Chugwater Fire and Ambulance, Chugwater Housing and Economic Development and the Chugwater Community Center.
