Cheyenne, Wyo.- Same sport, new location.
Former East boys basketball coach, Jeff Bailey, begins a new era as South's basketball coach.
Bailey resigned as the T-birds head coach in March 2018, and accepted the head coaching position at South in May 2018.
Even though the Bison are just three weeks into practice, the team is happy about the hire.
"It's a good switch for us. It's a lot different basketball than we played last year and I think it's a better tempo for us and it fits us better than what we were running last year," said Kaleb Phillips, a senior at South.
Bailey said one of the biggest differences between the two programs is the atmosphere.
"I think it's just a different culture that you have to get used to," said Bailey.
"I mean, anytime you go anywhere different; whether it's a new school, new city, whatever it might be, I think it's just getting adjusted to different kids, even parents, different ways of doing things. Culturally, it has certainly been an adjustment, but it's been a good change and I've enjoyed it," Bailey said.
South will start its season on the road against Green River in the Riverton Invitational, Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
