CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) On March 9 a group of people were freezin’ for a reason to support Special Olympics Wyoming athletes. The Jackalope Jump took place at Sloan’s Lake and was organized by volunteers and local Wyoming Law Enforcement Torch Run members.

The fundraiser was a family friendly event to celebrate the abilities and accomplishments of Special Olympics athletes. Some jumpers even dressed up in costumes with Mario and a pirate making appearances and taking the plunge.

The money raised will provide equipment, training, and competition opportunities for more than 1,800 Special Olympics Wyoming athletes.
