Get a Safe Ride home from your holiday parties this year

CHEYENNE, Wyo It's that time of the year when several companies, family and friend's are throwing holiday parties. Cheyenne Regional Medical Center's goal is to reduce the number of unintentional injuries coming into the hospital by alcohol-related car crashes.

Last year, Laramie County had 30 crashes during the holiday season. Out of the 30 crashes 15 were alcohol-related.

If you are attending a holiday part it is important that you know your limit and never get behind the wheel of a vehicle if you have been drinking any kind of alcoholic beverage, especially at private parties when drinks are often made stronger.

If you do happen to drink too much there are a few ways you can get home safely. Of course, you can designate a sober driver, call a family member or friend and order an Uber or taxi. Some bar establishments in Laramie County participate in provide a "Safe Ride" home. People who have had too much to drink need to take advantage of these ride share programs.
