High wind watch issued for Sunday, Jan. 27

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) This past week we’ve seen a winter storm warning, we’ve felt temperatures in the 50’s, and now we’re looking towards a high wind watch that will be in effect from 5 a.m. tomorrow morning until 8 p.m. tomorrow night.

While we do feel a lot of wind throughout Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle, the National Weather Service issues a high wind watch to prepare residents and encourage people to bring inside outdoor furniture and trash cans.

Tomorrow during this high wind watch we’ll experience sustained winds between 30-40 mph and wind gusts up to 55 mph. On top of that, there is a 50% chance of an inch of snow late tomorrow evening and with the high winds blowing the snow around, that will make for reduced visibility.
