Local teacher appears on Jeopardy!

CHEYENNE, Wy.(KGWN)- A Cheyenne Native, Justin Earnshaw, got a chance to show off his skills of random trivia. He was selected as a contestant on Jeopardy! back in November of 2017.

Justin has lived in Cheyenne for his entire life and teaches Junior/High School English for LCSD#2 in Burns. Justin also received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wyoming.

Justin tells us the process started with an online test that hundreds of thousands of people take every year. From there he did an in-person interview in Denver, Co. and was then selected to be a part of the show.

Looking back at his trip Justin says everyone involved with Jeopardy! was so kind and accommodating to him. When he arrived in Hollywood he admitted he was more nervous to see who he would be competing against rather than actually filming the show.

In the end, Justin performed very well during the episode and walked away with $2,000. He says that it helped pay for his trip to California and left a little for fun spending money.

When asked what’s next for Justin he says continuing to promote knowledge in Burns and do his part in raising the next Jeopardy! contestant generation.
