CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) Laramie County Fire District #2 was called to a reported mobile home fire approximately 10:45 AM Monday morning. A neighbor to the south reported seeing smoke and made the call to 911.
Fire District #2 Engine 21 responded on scene first and found a single-wide mobile home 75% involved in flames with extension into a nearby abandoned camper, two older vehicles, and a 20 foot enclosed box trailer. The fire crew pulled two attack lines and started exposure protection.
Other mutual aid partners began arriving on scene and assisting including Cheyenne Fire & Rescue, Laramie County Fire District #1, FE Warren AFB, Wyoming Air National Guard, and AMR. The fire was extinguished by 11:24 AM and mop up and overhaul lasted until 01:18 PM. No injuries were reported. Fire investigation found the cause to be due to an electrical heat lamp.
Fire District #2 Incident Commander Chuck Scottini stated, “Everyone did a great job working together and preventing fire spread to other nearby residential properties.”
