CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- At least two Cheyenne organizations celebrated 2019 early on December 31, 2018.
The YMCA said this is at least its fifteenth time ringing in the noon year. Kids under age 10 joined in the festivities beginning at 10:30am.
Dads making a difference and East High School's JROTC program volunteered with face painting, games and even a jump castle.
Kids then moved into a part of the gym filled with balloons to begin the countdown. Afterwards they were given time to pop as many balloons as they wanted.
The library also joined in celebrating the new year a little early. Giving cheyenne another way to bring in the new year indoors. There was a balloon drop at noon and also a sensory drop which consisted of confetti.
Kids could also create a mask or other decoration. And they were given kazoos and your other typical noise makers for the celebration.
