Rock the Block returns to downtown Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) - Rock the Block will return in 2017 to downtown Cheyenne.

The first time the event was held was during Cheyenne Day in 2015. About 1500 people turned out. After taking a year off the event is back.

Desiree Brothe, Downtown Development Authority says they heard from people in the DDA district that this is something the public would like to see return.

This year's event will be revamped and at a new location. The alley behind the Paramount Cafe in downtown (between Central and Capitol and Lincolnway and 17th) will be blocked off. The event will be held at the murals in that alleyway. The public is invited to come on June 10, 2017 between 5pm and 11 pm. All ages will be invited, and adult beverages will be available to purchase with an I.D.

The event is still in the works at this time. The DDA is looking at having up to five bands. The plan is to pull from local, regional, and possibly national. They're also looking to have a couple of food trucks set up.
