Salvation Army Angel Tree Changes

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - This year the Salvation Army has made some changes to the Angel Tree Program. This year, parents of the children receiving the gifts will be able to “shop” for them. Something Salvation Army members see as a way to give dignity to the parents.

You can still purchase presents and drop them off as you normally would. Though, the names and gift ideas are representative of kids, not the names of actual children receiving the presents.

Lieutenant Chad Lamb is looking forward to getting to see the parents pick out gifts for the kids. He said, “What's different is the smile on their face. Which is different, because they're there and picking things up and putting things down and hemming and ha-ing back and forth just to see would my daughter like this or that." Parents will be invited to pick out the gifts on December 21st, 2018.
