Summer Reading Program to begin

CHEYENNE, Wyo.- The Summer Reading Program is back. It's an opportunity to sit back, relax and catch up on those reading skills!

The Laramie County Library will be kicking off their program Friday, May 26, and although it's not quite summer, Reese Ruiz from the Laramie County Library says they're already in summer mode at the library.

Ruiz says anyone can sign up on Friday. It's free, you don't need a library card and for the first time everyone can sign up online.

The program is about setting goals for reading, earning prizes and enjoying a good book. Once participants reach their goals and collect a row of stickers, they can receive a prize. Ruiz says all children under 18 will receive a free book for completion and adults will receive a multi-tool. She says the tool goes along with their theme this year: "Build A Better World."

Overall, the library hopes to beat their previous record and reach more than 9,000 participants.
