Thompson's jaw x-rays negative, still in concussion protocol

Laramie, Wyo. - Pine Bluffs native Hunter Thompson left the second half of Wyoming's season opener against UC Santa Barbara after taking a ball to the face Tuesday night.

Thompson's jaw x-rays came back negative, meaning the redshirt freshman did not suffer a broken jaw from the incident.

Thompson remains in concussion protocol and a time table for his return has not been issued.

The Wyoming rookie scored 10 points in his first career game as a Cowboy.

Wyoming dropped its season opener, falling to UC Santa Barbara 76-66 Tuesday night.
