Volunteers needed for Cheyenne Christmas Parade

Cheyenne, Wyo. - Volunteers are still needed to help out at this year’s Cheyenne Christmas Parade.

The 27th annual event is happening at 5:30pm in downtown on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, November 25. The 2017 theme is called “Candyland Christmas.”

As with each year’s parade, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is looking for people to take part and volunteer. Help is needed in hanging up signage in advance of the parade, handling barricades to mark the parade route, to direct onlookers, pass out hot chocolate, etc.

To volunteer, you’ll just need to sign-up at http://www.cheyennechristmasparade.com/volunteer

The Christmas Parade kicks off at 17th Street and Carey Avenue and marches north on Carey to 24th Street, then turns right to Capitol Avenue. From Capitol Avenue, the parade continues down to 16th street and concludes on Pioneer Avenue with Santa continuing on to the Depot Plaza for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The first float of the Christmas Parade is Toys for Tots so please bring unwrapped toys to the parade.

Once again, KGWN CBS Newschannel 5 will be broadcasting the entire parade live, starting at 5:30pm, as well as live streaming it on kgwn.tv.
