CHEYENNE,Wyo. (KGWN) 150 years ago, Governor John Campbell signed legislation giving women the right to vote, making Wyoming's the first government to acknowledge and affirm women's inherent right to vote and to hold office.
A bill sponsored by Senator Ellis confirms December 10th will always be a day to remember, as it now marks Wyoming Women's Suffrage Day. The holiday will honor the progress Wyoming made years ago allowing women to vote and hopes to encourage all to learn about the women and men who made women's suffrage in Wyoming a reality.
