Wyoming senior breaks 38-year-old long jump record

Laramie, Wyo. - Wyoming senior Ja'la Henderson set a new record in the long jump event at the annual Power Meet Friday.

Henderson recorded a leap of 20 feet, seven inches, breaking a 38-year-old school record previously held by Patricia Miller set in 1980.

In the team scores, the Cowboys beat the Bears, 49-40, while the Cowgirls blew out the Bears, 72-27.

The Wyoming track and field teams will be back at it on Saturday, January 19th, when they travel to Fargo, N.D., for the NDSU Team Challenge.
