Youth Alternatives: How to Keep Kids Busy During the Holidays

By  |

CHEYENNE, Wyo - With the Holiday break in full swing and kids out of school for break we often ask ourselves as parents what can we do to keep our kids busy during the Holidays.

Cheyenne Youth Alternatives sent us some advice on keeping kids busy.

Get Creative
-Whether its cookie decorating, going on a Holiday Scavenger Hunt, or putting on a puppet show and recording it all these activities will keep the kids engaged but also leave lasting memories during the holidays.

Volunteer
-There are many organizations around town where kids can get involved in volunteering. Volunteering is a great experience for children and it allows your child to meet others who are in need but also connects to them to their community. Volunteering can teach a valuable lesson to kids that “there is more to the holidays than gifts.”

Fun with Board Games
-Board games are a great way to keep the kids busy in the house but their minds going. Board games teach creative but also bring the family together away from the TV and cell phones.

Go Camping in the Living Room
-A camp night in your living room will be something your kids will remember for years to come. Either set up a tent or make your own tent out of chairs and blankets. Make s'mores on the stove and play fun campfire games.
