Brooks finds off-speed groove as Sixers shut out Laramie 13-0

Cheyenne, Wyo.- Sixers pitcher Cody Brooks said he finally mastered his off-speed pitch on Monday night as the Sixers shut out Laramie 13-0 on the second day of the Wyoming State Tournament.

"My off-speed is finally working. It hasn't worked all season and I finally got it to work so that's an extra pitch I have other than my fastball," said Brooks after the win.

"My fastball moves a lot but if I have another pitch, and it goes another way, than it catches pitcher off guard," Brooks said.

Finley Hastings went 1-3 with 5 RBI's in the win as Sixers advance to Day 3 of the tournament. Post 6 will take on Gillette on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
