Cheyenne, Wy- Wyoming football was hoping to get back to their winning ways on Saturday night. They made the trip to Columbus, Mo. This was the first time Wyoming and Missouri have played each other on a football field.
Here is a fun fact for you sports fans, Wyoming has not played against an SEC team in ten seasons. However, they have won three of its last four meetings against SEC opponents. They defeated Ole Miss twice in 2004 and 2005. They also defeated Tennessee in 2008.
Although the Cowboys suffered a 40 to 13 loss there were several positives that players and fans can hopefully use to ease the burn of this one. Cowboys did get on the board thanks to Jevon Biglow. He rushed for a career-high 56 yards. Senior safety Andrew Wingard led the Wyoming defense with 12 tackles. He now moves into third in all-time tackles at Wyoming with 387 stops.
As for kicker Cooper Rothe hit two field goals including a career-best 51 yarder in the second half.
Cowboys are back in action next Saturday at 2 where they will host Wofford.
