East basketball player says new coach is 'very intense'

Cheyenne, Wyo.- East basketball player, Erik Oliver, says the T-Birds new head coach, Rusty Horsley, is 'very intense' when he steps onto the court.

Horsley is in his first year as the boys head coach, but was previously the Lady T-birds basketball coach for nine seasons.

So it's not like the boys have never met Horsley. In fact, he's a teacher at East and has taught a majority of his players.

"I had him my sophomore year as a health [teacher] and now I have him this year as a weights coach," said Erik Oliver, a senior forward on East's basketball team. "But on the court, he's very different, very intense, just wants the best for us kids so he gets on you, but it's only for the best of us," Oliver said.

East opens up the season against Highlands Ranch on Thursday at 8 p.m.
