Mustangs 18U team has a new Manager and Head Coach

Cheyenne, Wy- Starting in May the Mustangs varsity team will be coached by Sheldon Baxter. Baxter has several years of experience as both a coach and player. He was a Division I pitcher for Murray State University in Kentucky. In his college career he had multiple starts on the mound against top ten nationally ranked teams.

He played for 6A Lecanto High School in Lecanto, FL. During his time there he was named Citrus County Player of the Year after he hit .420 and going 9-2 on the mound with a 1.52 ERA. He was also a four year varsity letterman.

For the last two season Baxter has been an Assistant Pitching Coach for his high school. He has also been the head coach for both the 18 and 16U traveling teams. He has helped over twenty players move on to play in college.

Reed Thompson will remain on the Mustangs coaching staff as Baxter's assistant. In fact, Baxter and Thompson played together at Murray State for two seasons.
