Laramie, Wyo. - Wyoming men's basketball coach, Allen Edwards, announced Tuesday that senior guard Nyaires Redding has been suspended indefinitely from the team.

Redding is reportedly being suspended due to his alleged involvement in an altercation in downtown Laramie on Saturday, December 8th.

Details of the incident are still being investigated, but Edwards said as soon as he became aware of the situation he informed Wyoming's athletic department.

The senior has been suspended effective immediately.

“In connection with the suspension of Ny Redding, we will follow all university policies and procedures related to this alleged incident,” said Tom Burman, University of Wyoming Athletics Director.

Redding has been taken off the Cowboys online roster on GoWyo.com. CBS NewsChannel 5 reached out to Burman to see if this is protocol, and he said it's not.

"Our media staff chose to remove him but he could be added if something changed," said Burman.

Redding averaged 6.3 points per contest this season.

Cowboys will host the University of Denver in Arena Auditorium tonight at 7 p.m.
