LARAMIE, Wyo. (KGWN) - Three members of the Wyoming women's basketball team earned MWC all-American honors.
Senior, Bailee Cotton, earned the MWC defensive player of the year award, Marta Gomez was named to the all-conference team, and Karla Erjavec was named to the all-freshman team.
Cotton joins Hanna Zavecz and Brenda Pickup as the only Cowgirls to win the award.
Gomez led the Cowgirls in scoring during conference play, averaging 15.4 ppg, shooting 55.7% from the field, 47.5% from 3-PT range, and 91.5% from the free throw line.
Freshman, Karla Erjavec, was named to the all-freshman team. She started every game for the Cowgirls, leading the team in assist with 101.
The Cowgirls head into the MW Championships at the No. 3 seed, and will play Utah State on Monday, the 11th, at 8:30 PM (PT).
